Background
In the 1980's Jeffrey Johnson was employed as Director of Social Work in a nursing home in the Baltimore, Maryland area. He listened as families of clients, who often expressed frustration that they had few alternatives other than to place their loved ones in a nursing facility. Before long, Jeffrey resolved to establish his own business to provide care for homebound senior citizens.

Getting Started
In the summer of 1991, Jeffrey resigned from his position with the nursing home and started a non-medical home care agency in Baltimore called "The Senior Care Group, Inc". Now in its second decade, the agency that Jeffrey established has serviced a great number of clients and established an excellent reputation in the Baltimore, MD area.

The Birth of Visiting Angels
In 1998, Jeffrey joined with three other directors (including 2 with extensive experience operating their own non-medical home care agencies) to establish Visiting Angels as a nationwide network of home care agencies and in just 4 years, this goal was fully realized.

Today Visiting Angeles is a nationally respected network of non-medical, private duty home care providers.

Visiting Angels is here to help; with experienced, compassionate, caregivers and non-medical, private duty home care. Visiting Angels Personal Care is provided by an HHA or CNA. Duties can include help with bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, incontinent care, physical transfer, medication assistance, monitoring of client's condition, and companion care services. Visiting Angels Companion Care provides transport & accompaniment, shopping, medication reminders, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry and quality companionship.
